League round-up: Jack Bonham's Bradford battering

Brentford's teenage goalkeeper Jack Bonham endured another nightmare afternoon at the start of his Football League career after coming off the bench to concede four goals during his side's 4-0 defeat at Bradford City.

The 19-year-old, whose error against Leeds contributed to his former club, Watford, missing promotion on the final day of last season, was called upon from the 26th minute after David Button was sent off for a foul on Bradford's Nahki Wells.

Bonham was beaten 15 minutes later when James Hanson put Phil Parkinson's side in front before three goals in nine second-half minutes – from Wells, Garry Thompson and Hanson – lifted Bradford up to fifth in League One.

Peterborough missed out on the chance to join Leyton Orient at the top after a 2-2 draw at Crewe. It could have been worse for Darren Ferguson's side as goals inside the first 21 minutes from Vadaine Oliver and Ajay Leitch-Smith put Crewe two goals up. But Tyrone Barnett replied at the end of the first half before Michael Bostwick headed an injury-time equaliser to leave Peterborough third.

Crawley came from behind to beat Gillingham 3-2 and climb to sixth after both sides were reduced to 10 men. Danny Kedwell opened the scoring for Martin Allen's side from the penalty spot in the 47th minute.

Gary Alexander and Gillingham's Charlie Lee were then dismissed before Kyle McFadzean and Billy Clarke turned the match in Crawley's favour. Although Leon Legge equalised in the 69th minute, Clarke's second goal won the game 12 minutes later.

Chesterfield stay top of League Two following a 1-0 home victory over Accrington. Tendayi Darikwa's 47th-minute goal secured the Derbyshire side's fifth League win in six matches.

Hartlepool celebrated their first League goal of the season – through James Poole in the last minute – but were still beaten 2-1 at home by Wycombe. Max Kretzschmar struck twice to leave the hosts in the bottom two.
