Four were sent off as Roberto Baggio's new club, Brescia, held his former team Juventus to a 0-0 draw in Saturday's Italian Cup third-round first-leg action.

Baggio, who signed for Brescia on Thursday, made a bright debut but is clearly short of match fitness and he was substituted in the 67th minute.

The Juventus defender Ciro Ferrara was sent off for a foul in the 85th minute and four minutes later his team-mate Edgar Davids and Brescia's Andres Yllana were dismissed after they clashed off the ball. Then Brescia's substitute Simone Del Nero was sent off for a second bookable offence.

In Spain, Raul missed a penalty with two minutes left as Real Madrid drew 3-3 at Malaga in a thrilling league match on Saturday. Real, 3-1 down, had fought back with late goals from Albert Celades and Guti. Barcelona were beaten 3-1 by Athletic Bilbao in a scrappy game that saw both teams finish with 10 men.

In France, the league leaders Bastia suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Stade Rennes on Saturday but retained top spot from Lens, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Paris St-Germain.
