Brazil will be looking to recover from their 7-1 shame when they take on the Netherlands in the World Cup third-place play-off this evening, but they could do so after suffering the embarrassment of having their fierce rivals’ colours screened onto the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

Users will be able to vote on Twitter to decide which finalists have their team colours screened on the iconic statue later tonight, with Germany and Argentina set to collide on Sunday night at the Maracana.

Using the hashtag #ArmsWideOpen, fans can tweet their preference of who they would like to see light up the famous statue by including either Germany or Argentina’s hashflag.

With the Brazilian skyline set to be illuminated from 7pm local time, the lights will change to keep in real-time for two hours as the vote changes online.
