Police in Santiago used water cannons to disperse fans celebrating Chile’s 2-1 victory against Peru
Scenes of riot police using water cannons against Chilean fans have marred their team’s semi-final victory against Peru.
The crowds reacted by pelting the cannons with anything they could get their hands on.
The host nation Chile defeated Peru 2-1 to book a place in Monday’s final, as they look to win the Copa America for the first time in its 99-year existence.
Their opponents in the final will be decided tonight in the semi-final between Argentina and Paraguay.
