Frank Lampard scores the goal that wasn't in 2010

England's 2010 World Cup campaign came to a disappointing end in the Round of 16, where the Three Lions were dumped out by the old enemy Germany.

The final result was 4-1, but the match is much more memorable for Frank Lampard's 'goal that wasn't'.

With the score at 2-1, England were losing but far from out, and Lampard tried a speculative effort that left the goalkeeper scrambling. The ball hit the underside of the bar, bounced down, before the goalkeeper scooped the ball away to safety.

England players were aghast, replays showed that the ball had crossed the line - substantially so - but still, the referee deemed that the goal would not stand. England went on to lose but will forever look back at what might have been.
