'I didn't expect us to close the gap so quickly' - ten Hag praises United progress since arrival

Manchester United face Real Betis for a place in the Europa League quarter-finals tonight with Erik ten Hag’s side in a strong position from the first leg last week.

Led by Bruno Fernandes, United won 4-1 at Old Trafford last week to take charge of the tie as Ten Hag’s side responded to their humiliation at Anfield days before.

United were held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton on Sunday, with their focus this season increasingly turning to adding further silverware following their victory in the Carabao Cup.

Progress to the last eight of the Europa League would take United one step closer, although they also have their FA Cup quarter-final with Fulham to contend with on Sunday.

Here’s everything you need to know.
