Chelsea fans 'filmed singing racist songs' after Capital One Cup final

A group of men, believed to be Chelsea fans, have allegedly been caught singing racist and anti-Semitic chants on a train from London to Manchester after the Capital One Cup final.

According to reports, three Asian women and a black man decided to leave the train, after a man was heard singing 'Paris, Paris, Paris, that’s the way we like it, a n***** on the door'.

The song references the race storm that engulfed the club after the 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain, when a black passenger was not allowed on the Paris Metro by a group of Chelsea fans. Chelsea fans were also caught singing racist songs the day after the game at London St Pancras. Police believe they have identified the men involved.

The latest video, captured on Sunday, has emerged taken by a fellow passenger at 9.25pm from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. The short clip only shows footage of seats - the men cannot be seen - but also features someone saying 'Tottenham are a load of Y**s' and 'John Terry is a racist, a racist, a racist'.

The passenger who filmed the incident has been in contact with the police and described his journey as "90 minutes of hell", as nobody dared to confront the men.

British Transport Police received complaints from passengers and have urged the public to come forward with information.

"I want to hear from anyone who was on the train, particularly in coach E, around the time it reached Stoke, 10.40pm.

"By the accounts we have received, the group were chanting insults at other passengers, and some of these insults may have been racist. We are in the process of checking CCTV.

"But I would like to hear from any passengers who may have captured the behaviour of the group on mobile phones. Such footage could be crucial to our investigation."

Four men were ejected from the train at Stoke and another four left through choice.

A Chelsea spokesman said: "We are assisting the British Transport Police with their enquiries, and their efforts to identify the individuals involved."
