Following Brendan Rodgers' latest disappointment, a 1-0 defeat to struggling Hull City on Tuesday night, we asked you whether you thought the Liverpool manager should be sacked.

The result in midweek means Rodgers' team are floundering in fifth in the Premier League, seven points off rivals Manchester United in the final Champions League spot. They've won just two of their last seven matches, including a surprise exit to Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Reds have struggled all season - bar a great run of form in early 2015 - following a terrible summer of transfer business and surrendering in the Champions League group stages by playing reserves against Real Madrid.

But last season Rodgers nearly led Liverpool to their first title in 25 years, faltering in the final matches of the season.

So with that background - do readers of The Independent think he should go?

The answer is yes.

Over 4,000 readers took part, with the vote being split 64 per cent in favour of Rodgers being sacked, with 36 per cent saying no.

With Jurgen Klopp looming in the background, Rodgers must hope the Liverpool hierarchy don't feel the same way.
