Liverpool fans rejoice, Luis Suarez has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at Anfield until 2018. It may, however, not be legally binding…

A cunning Reds’ supporter asked the Uruguayan striker, whose current deal ends in 2016, for his autograph on a piece of paper (below) at the Football Supporters’ Federation awards on Monday night, when he won the FSF's Player of the Year trophy.

With the part of the page with the words “I hereby commit my future for the next five years to Liverpool Football Club” folded down, Suarez signed the page, unaware he had actually penned the ‘agreement’.

In the real world, Suarez has reportedly opened talks with Liverpool over a new contract worth a club-record £200,000 per week; the striker and his lawyers will be looking over that one more diligently.
