Micah Richards penalty: Manchester City defender apologises for abysmal spot-kick as it is given the meme treatment
City lost on penalties to Olympiakos in America after the miss
Well, at least it happened in a pre-season friendly.
Manchester City defender Micah Richards has apologised for this abysmal penalty (see below), during City’s shoot-out defeat by Olympiakos in America last night, after the match ended 2-2.
The 26-year-old decided to channel his inner-Chris Waddle, and sprinted up to the ball before lashing it into orbit from 12-yards.
Unsurprisingly, Richards then began to trend on Twitter, and the memes started to fly in.
