So close but yet so far pretty much sums up our campaign. At one point we were really challenging the top four, only to see our hopes of Champions League football fade away during a horrible run of form.

Martin O'Neill has definitely managed to progress the team although the Uefa Cup exit after resting key players is the big disappointment for most fans. A first trophy since 1996 would have been fantastic. The injury sustained by our super skipper Martin Laursen was the big low point of the season, but some of our young players have definitely improved, especially Ashley Young, who has put in some brilliant displays and was deservedly named PFA Young Player of the Year.

Which team were your best opponents?

Taking into account our 5-0 thrashing at Anfield I would have to say Liverpool.

Who would you most like your team to sign this summer?

We desperately need a powerful centre-back. Personally I would love to see us sign Micah Richards.

What was the weirdest/funniest moment of your season?

Seeing Steve Bennett award Hull a last-minute penalty at the KC only to reverse his decision was pretty weird/funny!

Mark out of 10 for the season?
