The most memorable transfer deadline day deals
Since the implementation of a transfer window during the 2002/03 season, 'deadline day' has become something of a highlight during the football season.
Reports of players in helicopters and fast cars amid mad-dashes to sign on the dotted line have become common place when the winter or summer windows close. It is billed as the day when sense and reason take a back seat to desperation as teams throw cash at anything that moves in a bid to sign players who may boost their fortunes.
While deadline day does not always live up to the hype, occassionally it does, with last January, which saw Fernando Torres, Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez all move at the last minute, of particular note.
Following this week's deadline day, we remember some of the biggest deals to take place in the final hours.
