He is yet to be formally unveiled as a Manchester United player but Wilfried Zaha has already found himself in the eye of a twitterstorm.

Rumours swirled on the social networking site that the 20-year-old winger turned up to his medical at Manchester's Bridgewater Hospital wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Imogen Thomas on it.

However it has in fact been revealed that the T-shirt was simply bought at River Island and in stark contrast to the multi-million pound deal that the player was signing it cost only £8.

The image of the player had gone viral as thousands of people thought the youngster had made a major fashion faux-pas - particularly considering the alleged links between the glamour model and television personality and Ryan Giggs, one of United's most decorated players.

Fortunately for Zaha the truth was much more innocent and he can now get on with trying to get his current club, Crystal Palace, promoted before his big money move in the summer.
