Arsenal’s transfer misery could be about to plunge to a new low after reports emerged claiming that the only player the Gunners were able to bring in, Kim Kallstrom, could face up to three months on the sidelines.

Rumours have circulated that the Swedish midfielder signed for the north London side even though he was carrying a back injury, although the initial prognoses that he could be out of action for between 8-12 weeks has since been played down

Arsenal are yet to confirm anything as they prepare for their Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace on Sunday, but any injury would be a major blow as they look to push on in their hunt for silverware this season.

Arsene Wenger’s side are already without Aaron Ramsey – undoubtedly their best midfielder this season – for up to six weeks after he suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury, while Jack Wilshere is also unavailable for Sunday’s encounter. The England international’s injury is thought to be short-term though.

While the Gunners missed out on Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler, the addition of Kallstrom brings in a wealth of experience thanks to his 108 international appearances for Sweden. His spell at the club, which runs until the end of the season, could well be over before it even begins though.
