Brooklyn Beckham set to be released by Arsenal at the end of the season after he fails in bid to land youth contract

The son of former England captain David Beckham has recently appeared for Arsenal's Under-18 side but looks set to leave the club in the summer

Brooklyn Beckham could face an early Arsenal exit after reports claimed he will not be offered a youth contract with the Premier League club at the end of the season.

David Beckham’s son hit the headlines earlier this month when he was a surprise inclusion in the Arsenal Under-18’s side despite being just 15 years old.

However, the Daily Mail reports that his inclusion was due to a number of the older youth players at the club being away in Qatar to play at the Al Kass tournament, and a decision has already been made not to retain Beckham’s services next season.

It’s also claimed that Beckham was hoping to secure a two-year deal to remain at the Hale End academy, where he will stay until the end of the season.

It is not yet known whether Beckham will seek a move to another club, but he is still held in high esteem among the Arsenal youth coaches even though he looks set to be dispensed with come the summer.

The report claims that due to Beckham’s late start in academy football at Hale End, he was always deemed to be behind his rivals in the right midfield position that his father made famous for Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy as well as England.

With seemingly better options on offer in the youth ranks, the Gunners are willing to allow Beckham to move on from the club he supports, even though the belief is that he will cut it as a professional player.

Beckham’s younger brothers Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 10, are also on the books at Hale End, and the club believe that the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham has the most potential to be a success as they hold high hopes for Cruz’s future.
