King in court over sex assault claims
A Premier League footballer appeared in court today to face charges of attacking a woman in a nightclub.
Marlon King, 28, of Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, appeared before City of Westminster magistrates' court in London.
The striker, who is on loan to Middlesbrough from Wigan, is alleged to have sexually assaulted and punched a 20-year-old woman in a nightclub.
King was arrested on 10 December after an incident at the Soho Revue Bar in Brewer Street, central London, three days earlier.
District judge Nicholas Evans adjourned the case until April 8 when King, who was released on bail, will appear again at the same court, a court spokesman said.
The footballer was on loan to Hull at the time of the alleged incident. The nightclub has since closed.
