You can't fault the commitment.

During Real Salt Lake's game against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday night, midfielder Luke Mulholland spotted his keeper Nick Rimando collide with an opponent.

The ball was still up in the air and seemingly flying towards an unguarded net - Mulholland decided he was going to do everything in his power to keep Real in the game.

Unfortunately he got it slightly wrong.

Leaping in the air, Mulholland fails to realise that the ball is heading for the top of the bar - and he is heading straight for the post...

Fortunately he was not hurt and Real Salt Lake went on to win thanks to a 93rd minute Lmes Garcia goal.
