Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Laurent Koscielny will be sidelined for Sunday's crucial Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The French defender has a hamstring strain, which he picked up during the Gunners' 3-2 defeat by Olympiakos in the Champions League on Tuesday. He was forced off in the 57th minute in that game.

In addition, Wenger has also confirmed that captain Mikel Arteta and fellow midfielder Mathieu Flamini will also miss Sunday's match because of injury.

“Laurent Koscielny will certainly be out, he has a hamstring strain and it looks like it will be three weeks, something like that,” Wenger said, before adding that Arteta and Flamini would play no part in the game.

On Francis Coquelin, who returned for the Olympiakos loss in midweek, Wenger says that the defensive midfielder “should be okay” to face the league leaders United at the Emirates Stadium.

“Francis should be okay for Sunday, yes.”
