Arsenal injury news: Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere remain injury concerns as Arsene Wenger considers changes

Arsenal could rotate their side for Monday evening's clash with Bournemouth after naming the same starting line-up for their last four matches

Arsenal will look to bounce back from Boxing Day’s annihilation at the hands of Southampton when Bournemouth travel to the Emirates on Monday night, with manager Arsene Wenger considering changes for the Premier League encounter as the second half of the season gets underway.

The Gunners saw their chance to top the Premier League table at the halfway stage slip through their fingers in dramatic fashion as Southampton thrashed them 4-0 at St Mary’s, and Wenger has admitted that he could look to freshen up a side that has started their last four matches.

Wenger was pleased with the impact made by substitutes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calum Chambers and Alex Iwobi, while Gabriel Paulista could replace either Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielny with both looking weary on Saturday night.

Arsenal have a short turnaround for Bournemouth’s visit to the Emirates given that they kicked off at the later time of 7.45pm, compared to the Cherries’ 3pm Boxing Day kick-off, and Wenger’s task is made even harder in the knowledge that none of his players currently sidelined by injury are in contention to return.

Alexis Sanchez (hamstring), Jack Wilshere (leg) and Mikel Arteta (calf) remain sidelined until January, while Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky (all knee) will not return before February at the earliest.

Arsenal face Bournemouth at the Emirates on Monday 28 December at 5.30pm, where a victory could take them top of the Premier League as Leicester do not play their next match until Tuesday, when third-placed Manchester City travel to the King Power Stadium.
