An emphatic late show from Manchester City gave the Premier League champions a relatively comfortable victory over valiant Aston Villa.

Goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, in the final ten minutes, put the hosts to bed after a stubborn display.

But how did the likes of David Silva, James Milner and Edin Dzeko fare against Paul Lambert's men?

Manuel Pellegrini's side, on the other hand, have made a lukewarm start to the current campaign and, even after tonight's win, are still two points behind leaders Chelsea.

The Chilean named his first choice centre-back pairing of Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala while Villa welcomed Christian Benteke back into the fold from the bench.

It was Toure's 82nd minute strike, however, which ultimately proved to be the difference before Aguero's powerful finish added a touch of gloss six minutes later.
