Graeme Souness enjoyed a day of golf yesterday while Blackburn Rovers prepared for their return to Europe, writes Alan Nixon. Souness was the non-playing captain for Scotland against Bill Beaumont's England in a charity event 24 hours before Rovers take on the Bulgarians CSKA Sofia, suggesting he rates the competition below par. Even with seats for the game reduced to half-price, only 12,000 tickets have been sold, indicating that the Blackburn public share Souness' indifference. One element who will not be present at Ewood Park are around 250 Bulgarians whose visas were rejected because they were suspected of being part of the club's notorious Ultras. Andy Cole is out after failing to recover from a hamstring problem, while Damien Duff is also unavailable.
