Chelsea bus parade: Premier League champions will showcase silverware through streets of London after announcing open-top parade

Chelsea will ride through the streets of south-west London after securing the Premier League title on Sunday

Chelsea have confirmed plans for an open-top bus parade through the streets of London to celebrate their first Premier League title success in five years.

The Blues secured the trophy courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday, with the three points giving them an unassailable lead at the top of the table with three matches left to play.

Having already won the Capital One Cup earlier this season after beating London rivals Tottenham at Wembley, the Chelsea players, academy and staff will take to an open-top pus to parade their silverware following a season that has seen them lose just three times in all competitions to date.

Having reached an agreement with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the Metropolitan Police, the club issued a statement on their official website to confirm the route of the parade.

WHEN WILL IT TAKE PLACE?

Chelsea will ride through the streets of London on Bank Holiday Monday 25 May, with the parade commencing at midday.

WHAT IS THE ROUTE?

Three coaches will leave the Stamford Bridge west entrance and travel east along Fulham Road. The route turns right onto Hortensia Road, followed by another right onto King’s Road before moving to New King’s Road.

The three buses will then reach their destination at Eel Brook Common, where they will remain for a short period before departing at around 1pm.

WHAT WILL BE ON?

The club are putting up big screens and a PA system at Eel Brook Common with the parade set to be broadcast live on Chelsea TV.

There will also be disabled viewing areas, toilets and first aid facilities available., while the bus route will be fully barriered to protect fans’ safety, with designated crossing points marshalled by stewards.

WILL THEIR BE ROAD CLOSURES THEN?

In short, yes. The following routes will close at 7.30am on the day of the parade, and are due to reopen again at 4.30pm that afternoon:

• Fulham Road from Britannia Road to Hortensia Road
• Hortensia Road from Fulham Road to Kings Road
• Kings Road from Gunter Grove to Waterford Road
• New Kings Road from Waterford Road to Parsons Green
