Chelsea extend Bruma's contract
Chelsea's 18-year-old Jeffrey Bruma yesterday signed a new contract, tying him to the Premier League champions until 2014.
The defender is a rising star at Stamford Bridge and, despite making only four substitute appearances for the club, was handed his full international debut by the Netherlands this summer.
He came off the bench in last month's Community Shield defeat to Manchester United but has since been sidelined after undergoing hernia surgery. Speaking after signing his new deal, Bruma said: "I am very happy to stay here. I have been working to improve all the time and a next step is getting your next contract, and it is time to improve again."
