Chelsea striker Lucas Piazon is wanted by Canadian police along with one of his Brazilian team-mates after the pair were accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old girl in the summer.

Toronto Police have issued warrants for Mr Piazon, who is currently on loan at Championship side Reading, and his Brazil Under-22 team-mate Andrey Da Silva Ventura in connection with a sexual assault that took place during the Pan Am Games that they were competing at.

The assault is said to have taken place after the two players met the victim at a Toronto night club on 25 July, before returning to the victim’s house.

Police allege that both Mr Piazon and Mr Ventura sexually assaulted the victim after she fell asleep before leaving the house. Police have also confirmed that Mr Piazon and Mr Ventura are no longer in Canada and would need to be extradited in order to face the charges.

Mr Piazon, 21, has not played for Chelsea since making 15 Premier League appearances in 2012/13m having spent time out on loan with Malaga, Vitesse Arnham, Eintracht Frankfurt and this season Reading where he has made seven league appearances and scored two goals.

Mr Ventura, 22, currently plays for Brazilian side Botafogo as a goalkeeper.

When asked about the reports surrounding Mr Piazon, a Chelsea spokesman told The Independent that the club are aware of the arrest warrant but declined to comment further. The Independent has not been able to contact a representative of Mr Ventura at time of writing.
