After a woeful campaign that ended with a 6-1 defeat to Stoke and with Raheem Sterling expected to leave over the summer, Liverpool are in desperate need of some positives to help build some optimism ahead of next season.

It was thought that Divock Origi, the Belgium international who was signed last summer and looked a handful at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, could be that chink of light at the end of the tunnel.

Liverpool allowed him to remain at the club they signed him from, Ligue 1 outfit Lille, for another season to help the 20-year-old's development.

However, it appears he didn't enjoy the best of seasons. French newspaper L'Equipe included him in their 'worst team of the season', with Origi having an average rating of just 4.46. During the campaign he scored eight goals as Lille finished eighth in the table.

Origi is expected to link up with Liverpool this summer and challenge for a place in the Reds' attack. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he can produce performances better than 4.46.
