Aston Villa central defender Richard Dunne will be out for up to two months with a fractured right shoulder.

Dunne suffered the injury by falling heavily against Manchester City on Sunday. He underwent surgery in Birmingham yesterday. Villa were also dealt a blow on Saturday when Ciaran Clark damaged knee ligaments in training.

The former Villa player Eamonn Deacy died of a heart attack yesterday aged just 53. Deacy, a midfielder, was one of only 14 players used in Villa's league-winning 1981 squad.
