Eden Hazard: Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa can fire Chelsea to all four trophies

Belgian admits summer signings have lifted pressure off his shoulders

Eden Hazard is delighted with summer signings Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa and believes the pair can fire Chelsea to a first Premier League title since 2010.

Costa, a £32m signing from Atletico Madrid, and Fabregas, brought in from £30m from Barcelona, have started at a furious pace with their new club and revolutionised the way Chelsea are playing this season. Costa has four goals in the three Premier League wins and Fabregas already has four assists.

The Belgian winger was Chelsea's main man last season but the Blues were over-reliant on the 23-year-old because of the failings of their strikeforce and a lack of goals by Oscar and Willian.

Hazard, who was eventually named PFA Young Player of the Year, was the only Chelsea player to score double figures last season with 14; he also added seven assists.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Hazard admitted he was happy to be the third fiddle behind the Spainsh stars: “It’s true they’re the best players. Costa can score every game and Cesc is one of the best midfielders in the world.

“Cesc can score as well and make good assists, just like the first game against Burnley where he made a beautiful pass for Andre Schurrle. It’s very important for the team and he can help us win.

“Last season I scored a lot of goals and maybe this season I can make a lot more passes forward because Costa is one of the best and he can score. It’s my job to score but it’s also my job to make assists as well.

“I can now concentrate on assists. I’m ready to be better than last season. When I’m on the pitch I try to give my best.

“The new players have settled in very good. I enjoy playing with the best players in the squad and I’m very happy.

“We have a very competitive team and we want more than last season. Last season we played good but we didn’t win any trophies so we want more.

“We can win four trophies and I hope we can compete in the two cups, the Premier League and Champions League for a long time throughout the year.”

Hazard (leg) and Costa (hamstring) are expected to recover from minor injuries, which ruled them out of games for Belgium and Spain over the past week, to face second-placed Swansea on Saturday.

Despite Chelsea’s fine form, Mourinho will be looking for an improved performance defensively at Stamford Bridge.

They have looked vulnerable at the back in all three games so far and had to fight for a 6-3 win over Everton last time out despite being two goals up inside three minutes.

Keeper Thibaut Courtois has replaced veteran Petr Cech in goal, while Cesar Azpilicueta has kept his place in the side despite the arrival of Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid for £16m.

Hazard believes both players have a big role to play this term and added on Chelsea TV: “Thibaut is a good guy, he is calm. He doesn’t stress at any time and is one of the best keepers in the world. He is just 22, has already played in a Champions League Final (for Atletico in May) and can win trophies with Chelsea.

“I have Azpi behind me and he helps me when I attack or have to defend. Off the pitch we are very close friends because he can speak French and understands everything.

“It is important for me to play with him because I know how he plays. I played against him when he was in Marseille and it was always a tough game. I think he can reach the level of being one of the best right or left back’s in the world.”

New £10.5m signing Loic Remy, who joined from QPR a fortnight ago, is on standby should Costa suffer a setback having begun training with his new team-mates for the first time yesterday after playing for France.
