Hangeland happy to stay at the Cottage
The Fulham defender Brede Hangeland may have been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks but he insists he is keeping his feet on the ground. The centre-back, signed in January from FC Copenhagen, has marshalled a mean Fulham defence which has conceded just 12 goals in 15 Premier League games this season.
"One of my main ambitions was to play in the Premier League, and I've achieved that coming to Fulham – I'm really happy here," Hangeland said. "It's all about doing a good job for the team – and if I do that then I'm happy.
"I'm just working hard every week to prove I'm good enough to play here, and it's nice when people think you're doing well."
Hangeland, 27, has never trained as hard as he has with Fulham in the last year. "We've done more work in nine months here than I've ever done before, so it's good," he added. "We work really hard – almost every day – on our shape and defending as a team."
