Despite being linked with a transfer to Arsenal this month, Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain says he has no plans to leave Real.

The 22-year-old former River Plate striker has an excellent scoring record with Real, finding the net 44 times in 73 starts and 38 substitute appearances for the club.

Last season he was the club's top-scorer with 22 La Liga goals and has continued his rich vein of form this term with ten strikes in his last nine appearances.

He told AS: "It would be wonderful to finish my career here.

"Real Madrid and the city are my second home, it would be fantastic. I would like that the Madrid fans remember me as a great person, humble and hard working."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to sign a new forward as Robin van Persie is out for most of the season with an ankle injury while Nicklas Bendtner has struggled with groin problems.

The Gunners have been linked with Higuain recently as well as West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
