Liverpool are set to reward vice-captain Jordan Henderson with a new long-term contract.

The England midfielder, 24, has progressed to become one of the club's key performers and is the latest to enter negotiations with the Merseyside club after Daniel Sturridge agreed a new five-year, £150,000-a-week contract last week.

Raheem Sterling, despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, and Philippe Coutinho are also likely to enter into contract talks in the next couple of weeks.

Henderson is in the final two years of the £40,000-a-week contract he signed when he arrived on Merseyside from Sunderland for £20m in 2011.
