New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly moved into the penthouse apartment of the man he replaced at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers.

According to the Daily Mail, Klopp will pay around £4,000-a-month rent to move into the flat, estimated to be worth £1.2million.

The German, who arrived in the job on Friday and watched the Liverpool Under-18 side beat Stoke on Saturday, was pictured with his family in the Sefton Park area of the city with his wife Ulla, security chief and Liverpool FC liaison officer Ray Haughan.

Klopp's stepson and girlfriend were also on the trip as the new Liverpool manager is said to have explored the city; he was pictured on Friday night having a beer and a cigarette at a pub in the city centre on Friday night.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild, Klopp said he was "humbled" by the chance to manage the club, and has also asked for patience.

"I am humbled to have this chance," he said. "Lots of German coaches have been successful but not many come here. This is a big challenge for me and my coaching team.

"Liverpool have had a period without success and changed managers a lot. Now the hope is for miracles, but progress takes time.

"I had a long conversation [with John Henry]. The aim is to develop a recognisable brand of football."
