STAR MAN

Scott Dann: Did a decent job of keeping Christian Benteke quiet and then proved his worth at the other end with the match-winning goal.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Dann's quick reaction to his initial header being saved by Simon Mignolet, nodding home the rebound eight minutes from time.

VIEW FROM THE BENCH

Jurgen Klopp was his usual animated self, standing in the technical area virtually the whole game, and changing his formation to a 4-1-4-1 late on as he went for the win. The most animated Alan Pardew got was when he thought the medical staff were taking too long to patch up Pape Souare's head injury but his tactical approach also has to be applauded as he also had no intention of settling for a draw.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

It's becoming a bit repetitive but Liverpool's seeming inability to properly deal with set-pieces.
