Liverpool vs Manchester City team news: Yaya Toure and Daniel Sturridge miss out, Joe Hart returns
Team news from Anfield as the two Capital One Cup finalists meet in the Premier League
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has recalled first-choice goalkeeper Joe Hart despite Willy Caballero’s penalty shoot-out heroics for the Premier League clash with Liverpool.
City defeated their hosts tonight on penalties in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday owing to Caballero’s performance, saving three penalties to deny the Reds.
Hart returns while Yaya Toure misses out, replaced by Jesus Navas, for the trip to Anfield.
Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Raheem Sterling start as predicted as City look to close the gap on leaders Leicester City.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, is without Daniel Sturridge as Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi lead the line.
Simon Mignolet remains in goal for the hosts while Kolo Toure, Yaya’s brother, starts at the heart of their defence.
Jon Flanagan also makes the first-team line-up for Liverpool, on the opposite side of the back-four to Nathanial Clyne, while captain Jordan Henderson and James Milner sit in the middle of midfield.
