Manchester United will start the new year with a much shortened injury list after recent fitness issues.

Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger all returned to the side for the much improved performance against Chelsea.

Despite the strong display last time out at Old Trafford, Manchester United still failed to score, ultimately settling for a 0-0 draw. Van Gaal will be desperate for something more with the visit of Swansea on Saturday.

Van Gaal has lost all three matches he's played against the Welsh side, but at least he will be able to pick from a nearly fully-fit squad this weekend as he attempts to buck the trend.

"The good news for 2016 is that we are in a better place in terms of injuries," the Dutchman told United Review.

Here, we take a look at those still on the treatment table...

Manchester United vs Swansea kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
