Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil truly is the assist master. After his two against Swansea on Saturday, the £42.5m German recorded his ninth assist of the season, more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues. What a brilliant season he is having.

Vardy a shoe-in for England start

Leicester hotshot Jamie Vardy scored in his eighth successive Premier League game this weekend. Ruud van Nistelrooy holds the record for scoring in consecutive Premier League matches (10). The England squad is announced for the upcoming friendlies against Spain and France. Vardy deserves to start.

United just not creating chances

The statistics are damning for Manchester United. They have created 81 chances in the Premier League this season. Only Sunderland (74) and Aston Villa (80) have created fewer chances in England's top flight this term.

Coutinho could be Klopp’s new Kagawa

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool tenure is well and truly up and running thanks to their 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Perhaps even more important than the result was the form of Philippe Coutinho, who scored twice and looked back to his best after a slow start to the season. The Brazilian is such an important player for the Reds and it would be no surprise if he flourished under Klopp, who got the best out of a similar player in Shinji Kagawa at Borussia Dortmund.

Butland putting the pressure on Hart

Jack Butland's patience was rewarded in the summer when Asmir Begovic's move to Chelsea made the 22-year-old Stoke's number one. He has grabbed the chance to show his Premier League class with both hands, and was exceptional in Saturday's goalless draw with Newcastle. England number one Joe Hart, on the other hand, nearly cost his team two points with a clanger for Manchester City against Norwich. It's tough to see Hart being usurped for the Euro 2016 finals but after that the gloves are off.
