Mesut Ozil will wear ground-breaking laceless Adidas boot for the first time against Chelsea on Sunday, and the Arsenal playmaker has described the prospect of wearing the boots "a dream come true".

The £42.5m German international missed the Gunners' 0-0 draw with Stoke City with a slight foot injury, but manager Arsene Wenger confirmed after the game that he should recover to play against the Premier League champions this weekend.

And should he play, he will be wearing these boots, known as the ACE+PureControl.

Ozil has gone in to some detail to explain just why he hates wearing laces.

"My whole career I have tried to minimise the impact of laces on my strike and ball control," Ozil, who has made a phenomenal 16 assists in the Premier League this season, said. "I revealed to adidas in 2014 that in the changing room I knot the laces over and over again and then tuck in the ends, that way they do not interfere with my touch. When they came to me last year with the laceless boots, it was like they have created my dream product. I cannot wait to wear them on the pitch."
