A win for Swansea over Crystal Palace on Saturday could mean they break into the top four, but a loss for Crystal Palace could mean they enter the relegation zone.

The Swans recently announced the extension of striker Wilfried Bony’s contract by one year until 2018. The Ivorian striker has has interest from various clubs and was linked to a transfer earlier in the season, but has now decided to stay with the club for at least a year longer.

Clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool were reported to have serious interest in the man who joined Swansea for a club-record fee of £12m from Vitesse Arnhem in 2012. Bony scored 25 goals in his first year at the Welsh club and has scored five goals this season so far.

Crystal Palace, who added more misery to Liverpool’s Premier League campaign last week by beating them 3-1, could still fall into the relegation zone this weekend. They were briefly in ninth position in September but results have gradually been worse, leaving the club in 15th at the moment.

Crystal Palace will look for their first win over Swansea City since four years to the day on Saturday.
