As is usually the case at this time of year, here is Thierry Henry, Arsenal’s record goal-scorer, back in training with the club at their London Colney base while the New York Red Bulls' forward strives to keep fit during the MLS off-season.

But with Arsenal desperately short of bodies up front - one could argue he is a better alternative to Nicklas Bendtner - could Henry sign for the Gunners for a third time?

The 36-year-old Frenchman scored 228 goals for Arsenal in two separate spells, firstly from 1999 to 2007, and then briefly on loan in January 2012 after training with the team over the winter of 2011.

Or maybe Henry is just there to inspire them against Southampton on Saturday - he did score his first ever goal for the club in a 1-0 win over the Saints in September 1999.
