The hugely talented Luis Nani has finally left Manchester United after failing to live up to the massive potential he so sporadically displayed.

The Portuguese winger has joined Sporting Lisbon in an exchange deal for Marcos Rojo having never reached the level many thought he would when he arrived at the club in 2007.

He showed his brilliance in flashes and though he had the talent to dribble and shoot viciously eith either foot, he never scored more than 10 goals in a season for Manchester United.

When Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real Madrid many predicted Nani would step out of his shadow to fill the void, but he never managed to produce the level of consistency needed.

For every Eric Cantona or Robin van Persie there has been a Juan Sebastian Veron and Bebe in United's recent history.

Here, we take a look at some of the biggest flops to have been brought to Old Trafford in recent years.
