The Celtic striker Henri Camara and Nacho Novo, of Rangers, have both been handed one-match bans with immediate effect by the Scottish Football Association for their part in a brawl during the last Old Firm game.
They were also given 12 penalty points, taking them through the disciplinary threshold, which means Camara misses a further game and Novo two further matches, both effective from 28 December.
Alex McLeish, the Rangers manager, said: "I'm at a loss as to why that incident should be picked up and highlighted when there were so many other incidents during the game."
The Rangers defender Jean-Alain Boumsong has returned to the squad to face Auxerre in the Uefa Cup at Ibrox tonight. Rangers will be without forwards Steven Thompson and Peter Lovenkrands. Thompson has an ankle injury and Lovenkrands a torn hamstring.
