Angel Di Maria is taking English lessons, Marcos Rojo has revealed, hinting that the winger is planning to remain at Old Trafford and establish himself at Manchester United.

Di Maria has been linked with a swift exit after a less than satisfactory campaign. Despite a promising start, the 27-year-old was struggling to even get in the side by the end of the season.

A return to Real Madrid and a switch to PSG have been mooted.

However, his Argentina team-mate Rojo has revealed that the duo have been taking English lessons together, a development that indicates that Di Maria is planning to remain at Manchester United beyond this summer.

Rojo said: “I’m taking some English classes with Di Maria.

"Although to be honest, I have to say we laugh more than learn in those classes sometimes. But we are both really interested to learn more of the language here.

"I have adapted quickly to life in the Premier League and I love it."

In his most recent column for The Independent, Paul Scholes expressed a view that Manchester United should keep Di Maria.

"The quality is there and I don’t think United can afford to lose him," he wrote. "They need that kind of player if they are to compete at the highest level in the Champions League. Let’s see what next season brings."
