Angel Di Maria transfer news: Real Madrid have 'offered Manchester United' the Arsenal target for £40m
Argentina winger, 26, has seen contract talks break down, according to reports
Friday 04 July 2014
Real Madrid have offered Argentina winger Angel Di Maria to Manchester United for a price of £40m.
The 26-year-old is currently trying to agree a new deal but talks have stalled with claims that the Argentine is being too greedy.
The European champions have decided to test the market for Di Maria and have contacted United, according to the Daily Star. United are interested in Di Maria but are believed to value him closer to £30m.
Di Maria is not thought to be overly keen on missing out on Champions League football next season and Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all monitoring the situation.
Real could use any money from the sale of Di Maria to fund a bid for Monaco and Colombia star James Rodriguez.
With new boss Louis van Gaal charged with taking United straight back into the Champions League, the club have already spent £60m on two new players this summer, with Ander Herrera arriving from Athletic Bilbao and Luke Shaw arriving from Southampton.
