Arjen Robben to Manchester United? Netherlands forward rules out move despite offer from Louis van Gaal

Dutchman will not be linking up with Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford

Arjen Robben has ruled out the possibility of making a move to Manchester United.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since it became clear that Louis van Gaal would be the Manchester club's new manager.

However the midfielder has told Dutch television that he will not be making the switch, despite the fact that Van Gaal had offered him a place in the United squad.

Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS, after his side's 3-0 victory over Brazil, Robben said he will not be moving to Old Trafford despite the "special bond" he shares with his manager.

"I have a special bond with him. He is the most important coach in my career," Robben said.

"(Moving to United) is not an option though. I will stay at Bayern Munich."

Robben has had an excellent World Cup under Van Gaal, making the shortlist for the player of the tournament with three goals and one assist.
