Arsenal sign Petr Cech: Gunners yet to confirm goalkeeper's shirt number after completing £11m move for former Chelsea star
Cech took to Twitter to announce his move to the Gunners but the club are yet to confirm what shirt number he will wear
Arsenal will unveil Petr Cech's number later today after the goalkeeper announced that he had completed his move from Premier League rivals Chelsea for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth £11m.
The current goalkeeper situation at the Emirates Stadium has now taken a new turn following the move, with Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina still at the club. Pole Szczesny currently wears the number one shirt while Colombian Ospina is currently Wenger’s first choice.
But with Cech almost certain to be Wenger’s go-to goalkeeper, the question now is whether Szczesny will be asked to change his number in order for Cech to assume the number one shirt.

Show all 7Reports have linked Ospina with a move to Turkey with interest coming from Fenerbahce, but with the Colombian currently wearing the number 13 shirt, it’s unlikely that he will vacate it unless and exit is imminent.
When club legend Thierry Henry returned to the Gunners in 2012, Theo Walcott held onto the number 14 shirt that he assumed in the French striker’s absence, while Abou Diaby vacated the number two shirt last year when right-back Mathieu Debuchy was signed from Newcastle.
