Arsenal are preparing a £25m bid for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia if they miss out on Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has starred for Monaco in Ligue 1 this season, and also memorably received Mesut Ozil's shirt at half-time during an appearance against the Gunners in the Champions League in March.

Kondogbia, who is also wanted by Inter Milan, has won three cap[s for the France national team.

Fellow Frenchman Schneiderlin looks set to join Manchester United, with the Saints midfielder reportedly agreeing personal terms with the Old Trafford club.

The 25-year-old could be United's second addition this summer, after Memphis Depay.

Depay will join for £25m from PSV on 1 July, when the transfer window opens.

His new club team-mate Daley Blind has described Depay, who he has played with for Holland, as a "game changer".

"He is a player who can change games," Blind told manutd.com. "He has a great free-kick, a great dribble, a great shot. He’s young, talented and always wants to work hard. He always wants to better himself on the training pitch, that’s how I know him. I think he is quiet, but if he has something to say he will, if you know what I mean! Yes, he is very confident, but he is a good guy."
