Italian media claim Fernando Felicevich is in England and will meet with Van Gaal

Italian media are reporting Arturo Vidal's agent will be in Manchester this week to discuss a possible move to Manchester United.

The Chilean's agent Fernando Felicevich was in London on Sunday, according to Rai Sport, to watch another one of his client's, Alexis Sanchez, in action for Arsenal in their Community Shield victory at Wembley.

The Italian TV channel says Vidal's agent will now travel to Manchester to meet with Louis van Gaal over their proposed blockbuster move for the 27-year-old.

Last week Felicevich was reported to have agreed a £182,000-a-week with the club's hierarchy. However, Louis van Gaal is believed to have reservations about the Juventus midfielder's knee, with Chile national team boss Jorge Sampaoli stating the Dutchman "has his doubts" over Vidal's long-term fitness.

The midfielder suffered an injury in May and was unable to play in the final three games of Juve's season - though he did play 48 matches in total for the Old Lady. Vidal played in three of Chile's four matches at the World Cup, though he wasn't 100 per cent fit.

Reports from Chile claim that an initial assessment carried out by United's medical staff have raised the issue of his previous injuries, which he suffered to the ankle and knee areas, and Van Gaal would require a full diagnosis before giving the green light for the move.

However, Van Gaal is unlikely to get a chance to meet with Vidal until after next weekend - he is currently in Asia on a pre-season tour with the Italian champions and they are not expected to return until Sunday or Monday.

United and Juventus are still to agree a fee but the club made an increased £45million offer last week.
