The rumours are flying about left, right and centre today as Chelsea continue to be linked with every single player under the sun.

The latest development in France has suggested the Blues are now considering making a move for Edison Cavani. According to Le10 Sport – a true fountain of knowledge – Chelsea have made a €50m bid for the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

Having been linked with Cavani before, it’s likely this is yet another product of the rumour mill that will eventually fade into passing.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have still not given up on Alvaro Morata. Real Madrid have already turned down Chelsea’s £50m and £62m offers for the striker and have now valued the Spaniard at £67m, according to the Daily Mirror.

Despite initially looking as if they would sell the 23-year-old after triggering his buy-back clause at Juventus, Madrid remain intent on keeping Morata at the Bernabeu.

In light of the failed attempts to sign Morata, it seems Chelsea are also once again contemplating Romelu Lukaku. According to the Liverpool Echo, the Blues will lodge a bid worth £50m which falls short of Everton’s £65m valuation.

The Toffees are determined to keep hold of the 23-year-old meaning the west London club will have to up their offer.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are also set to increase their offer to sign Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.

The Sweden international has a minimum release clause of €30m and while the Blues are prepared to make an improvement on their £20m offer, O Jogo claim that the club is reluctant to spend too much on a relatively unproven player.

And one of Antonio Conte’s transfer targets has finally settled his future – and it’s not good news for the Blues. Andre Gomes has completed his transfer to Barcelona for £41.7m after being initially linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old has decided to remain in Spain and makes the move to the Catalonia giants from La Liga rivals Valencia.
