Stoke manager Tony Pulis has completed his fourth signing of the summer after Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye joined for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old Senegal international has joined the Potters on a 12-month deal after impressing during training while on a week-long trial with the club.
Faye has been handed the number 19 shirt and is available for the club's Barclays Premier League opener against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.
Pulis told www.stokecityfc.co.uk: "He's very strong and athletic, and he has important experience at the top level we can call upon.
"I've liked the look of him in training and also liked his attitude in the few days he's been with us. I think he did well in the short time he was on the pitch in last week's friendly against Osasuna."
