How might Manchester Utd spend Ronaldo money?

Ever heard of Ronaldo?

he plays most of the time as a second striker or centre forward.
Franck Ribery is the one

Franck Ribery's name stands out the most from this list. Even if he was the ONLY addition to the squad this summer, he would make a world of difference worth atleast two or three of the other players listed. The left wing where he generally operates is a position United have yet to fill on a regular basis since Giggs started playing a more central role. Ribery, Rooney, Ronaldo three-pronged strikeforce would be just unstoppable. The three 'R's if you like. Ribery has already stated that should Bayern fail to qualify for the champions league, he's going elsewhere. Bayern have a "must win" final game against Stuttgart who are level on points and fighting for the same spot later today.

All said and done, yes, finance is the main issue with some reports suggesting that it all hinges on whether Ronaldo stays or leaves. I personally don't believe that's the case but even so, Ribery would more than make up for the loss.

Hi there, while I think your article is interesting it's hard to read. Because you have to click every time you want to get onto the next player and the you are presented with a giant photo. To read profile you have to scroll down then scroll back up and click on the next number and so and so on. It's really annoying. Would it be too hard to make the photos smaller so could see the text without having to scroll down or put the text next to the photo. It's not hard.

here, here - completely agree..... it's a regular annoyance with these spots in the Indy. Is it really so difficult to set it up in a more user friendly way??? All that scrolling down is really boring
united transfer list

this is the worst transfer list i've ever seen. SAF has said that foster is the future england no.1 and it is clear that SAF believes he is VDS's natural successor. we've got so many options at RB it's not real. the very suggestion of a 60million+ bid from united for any player these days is just silly, fantasy football - even for ribery or kaka - get real, this isn't city or madrid! and veloso!? i mean seriously, we could have bought him seasons ago but we didn't want him, and not even spurs would pay the asking price.

please think before writing next time

Dodo is rumored to be almost a done deal, Ribery or Silva ( Ribery being my choice), Kameni on a free, Franco Zuculini a quality up and coming holding midfielder @ 18 yrs old is certainly worth the risk and a replacement for Tevez if he leaves ..... does anyone think that UTD should try and sell Berba for about 25 MIL to finance the purchase of Benzema ?

in a word, no. firstly, we wouldn't get 25mill for him. secondly, you can't judge anyone in their 1st season. thirdly, we would have got him by now if we were going to

potential targets for Man Utd

The only realistic targets from that list are Sakho and Benzema (if Tevez leave). Ribery also might come if Ronaldo goes to Real. Otherwise I can see SAF buying Lee Cattermole from Wigan.

But I would love it if SAF goes for Lennon, Agbonlahor and Ashley Young, all young pacy England attacking players!

i think the yound brazilian douglas costa would be a good signing, if tevez was to leave.as well as bringing in a good winger, sell nani, get in arron lennon from spurs plus united need someone to marshall the midfield in the keane mould. anderson is doing it in drips and drabs but not yet up to scratch.a bid for miguel veloso of sporting lisbon would,nt be a bad move for club and player.

TOTALLY OVERHAULING OF THE SQUARD
[info]sirkolly wrote:

The management have to change the squard totally like goalkeeper, fedinard, etc and if possible sell ronaldo because you can see his wasted chances and that of Ronney too during the champions league. The management should buy mid-fielder that can control the whole field with an acurate passing. Man Utd should not die. We love the club badly in Nigeria and we are at your side. Say United - keep it up next season.

Berbatov will go down in history as one of the worst man utd players ever. Signing him was an expensive mistake. What Man Utd need is a world class defensive midfield player. Darren Fletcher just isnt world class. Hargreaves may be, but he is injured most of the time. If Ronaldo leaves this summer it will leave a giant hole in Man Utd's attack because he is their only creative player.

i think ribery would be good and i also think michael owen (bear with me here) would be too. he's been rubbish recently because he's been at a rubbish club but i guarantee you he'd score 30 goals next season if united played him up front. he'd finish everything they created for him. oh, and he'd probably be quite cheap... http://fsn.typepad.com/blog/

Money begets money, and while it will be nice to see the back of this pouty, indulged and petulant baby of a man, the reported 80 milliion that Man U will receive from his sale will only help shore up their dominance of the Premier League. United have long since abandoned the youth policy of the mid-1990s, and no doubt Feruson will be free to splurge even more on players. I doubt it will cross anyone's mind at the club that they could pay off some of the one billion pounds in debt that they owe.

We are struggling in midfield, we haven't replaced Keane and I know that isn't possible but we need to have a bit more bite in midfield, I think Costa is a good option, as for upfront, Fergie needs to sort Bera.. out, guy is just not performing.

Douglas who? Get real, if he's so good, why he stay on the bench on his club? Without mentioning that gremio is a middle class club from brasil, and played the 2nd division a couple of years ago. He wouldn't do anithing on a real club;

in -
sergio aguero - 37 million - striker
alexis sanchez - 24 million -winger
douglas costa - 21 million - central attacking midfielder left foot
sakha - 8 million - central defender
total - 90million
outs -
ronnie 80 million
tevez - 0 miliion
campbell 6 million
gibson 2.5 million
simpson 1 million
total 89.5

and dont rule out a db return in january, if hargreves is still injured and giggs n scholesy aint pulling there wieght, fergie might turn to a senior signing for midfield, for the center or on the right, hed be great ,rejuvenated, fighting for his place at WC - so will play out of hie teeth, be great for european games, sell more shirts than ronaldo at madrid and above all hes man united through and through, i think hel come back to england when his season at galaxy finishes in december, he needs to play to get his england place, united could just call him up!

i think SAF should concentrate on getting a fantastic holding midfielder. he should take a gamble on antonio valentia to compliment Wazza, Berba and park upfront. Strenght in midfield with three pacy forwards should scare any opponent.
