Kyle Naughton is on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur, with Swansea City closing in on a £5m move for the Spurs right-back.

Naughton has found himself behind Kyle Walker, Vlad Chiriches and Eric Dier in the pecking order at Tottenham and he is leaving in pursuit of more first-team football. Spurs play Sheffield United, Naughton’s old club, at White Hart Lane in the Capital One Cup tomorrow night.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino that Emmanuel Adebayor may start for the first time in almost three months, and that he was still part of his plans.

“Maybe he starts from the beginning of the game,” Pochettino said at his press conference earlier this afternoon. “For me he’s an important player in the squad, he’s in my plans. I think he is a good player for us and an important player for the team.”
